High Point, NC – Smith Leonard PLLC announced the promotion of Ben Duckett to tax partner, effective January 1, 2024.

A veteran CPA with two decades of public accounting and industry experience, Duckett has been a tax director for Smith Leonard for two-plus years, assisting clients with tax compliance, tax planning, accounting for income taxes, and advising on the tax consequences of transactions. Before joining Smith Leonard, Duckett served as a tax director for a large domestic manufacturer and an international retail and wholesale distribution business. He has extensive experience with income tax accounting and compliance, along with experience with indirect tax.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duckett received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting. Among many other professional affiliations, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of CPAs and serves as deacon of his local congregation.
