What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?

I had a manager tell me that this career is a marathon–not a sprint. I am someone who likes to move at a fast pace so it’s always a good reminder that we’ll all get to where we want to be in our career eventually–hard work, patience, and time are what are needed in the meantime.

Who or what inspires you professionally?

My mom is a huge inspiration to me. She is the president of a nonprofit that her and a few friends started to provide advocacy and support to foster and adopted children and their families throughout Arizona. She reminds me that we can all be the positive change we want to see in the world. If we aren’t happy with a process or system, there’s no reason that we can’t be the ones to work towards changing that.

What is your favorite memory from working here?

Volunteering with the Hickory Office at for this past year’s Day of Service – it was such a wonderful time getting to serve in the community.

What’s your favorite book or movie?

My favorite movie is Harvey – it’s a black and white film from the 50’s that delves into the many ways that kindness can impact those around us for the better.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

I love getting to mentor and coach others. It’s really fulfilling to see someone grow and progress in their career. Knowing that I got to be a small part of that process is so rewarding!
