At their annual statewide conference March 22-23, 2018 at the Pinehurst Resort, NAIOP North Carolina, comprised of NAIOP Charlotte, NAIOP Piedmont Triad, and NAIOP Raleigh Durham, announced their 2018 award winners. These awards recognize individuals and companies who positively influence the community and commercial real estate industry. At the conference where 275 commercial real estate professionals were in attendance, Smith Leonard Assurance and Advisory Partner James Mitchell was recognized as the 2018 Member of the Year for the Piedmont Triad.
James joined NAIOP in 2009 and has served in many capacities continuously throughout the last 8 years as a Director, chapter Treasurer, and chapter President. James has over 25 years of experience serving privately-held, public and not-for-profit companies, including 3 years serving as CFO/Controller of a privately owned construction company. He is active in Smith Leonard’s recruiting efforts as well as leads the Smith Leonard construction and real estate, education, and other not-for-profit practice groups. He is also heavily involved with many of the firm’s manufacturing, distribution, and international clients.
