NC Triad Firm Earns Prestigious National Recognition Six Years Running

For the last six years, Accounting Today and Best Companies Group has named Smith Leonard PLLC as one of America’s “Best Accounting Firms to Work For.”

The annual List of Best Accounting Firms comprises 100 firms throughout the nation in three different size categories.  According to Darlene Leonard, Managing Partner of Smith Leonard, “We are most proud of this award because it is comprised of true, anonymous feedback from our employees and is compared with firms across the nation. Along with other accounting firms from across the country, Smith Leonard participated in a two-part survey process. The first includes an evaluation of workplace systems, policies and practices; the second is an anonymous employee survey.

To be considered for participation, Leonard said her company had to fulfill a number of eligibility requirements, including:

• Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business;
• Be publicly or privately held;
• Have a U.S. facility;
• Have at least 15 employees working in the U.S.;
• Be in business a minimum of 1 year;
• Be an accounting firm.

Smith Leonard primarily serves the Piedmont Triad through its headquarters in High Point and a second office in Lexington, NC, but the firm’s reach extends into other parts of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and beyond. The practice is an independent member of the BDO Alliance USA, a nationwide association of independently owned accounting and consulting firms.
