Who or what inspires you professionally?

My dad. He always told me that in his younger years, he focused on enjoying himself, but as he’s gotten older, his work is harder and more physically demanding. His advice to me has been to flip that around — to put in the work early, while I was young, so that I’ll have more freedom and peace later in life.

Which of your professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

Passing the CPA exam! It definitely wasn’t an easy road, but it is nice to see “CPA” after your name.

How do you balance your professional and personal life?

Making sure to take advantage of the flexibility that Smith Leonard offers. I am able to never miss events with my daughter (school activities, games, practices, even coaching her teams) because I am able to adjust my schedule and work during early mornings or late nights to make up for that time.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?

Stick with it, it is all worth it in the end! The late nights, crazy schedules, and hard work pay off.

What’s your go-to way to unwind and recharge after a busy week?

A round of golf. Preferably with my daughter, it is awesome to see her continue to improve and really start to love playing!
